Empty Nest

When I grow up
I'm gonna fall in love
with a wonderful man
and get married
and live happily
ever after.

When I grow up
I'm gonna fall in love
with a wonderful man
and get married
and have four babies
and live happily
ever after.

When I grow up
I'm gonna fall in love
with a wonderful man
and get married
and have four babies
and spend 28 years
raising them
and loving them
and live happily
ever after.

When I grow up
I'm gonna fall in love
with a wonderful man
and get married
and have four babies
and spend 28 years
raising them
and loving them
and watch proudly
as they grow up
and get married
and have babies
and live happily....

....and what will I do
ever after?

    love this so much cally.
it's a song, and your pain shrieks like violin strings.
and it echoes around and around the vacant house.

but i agree with shell - cos i think our mummy journey changes somewhat, but we are still a mummy and very needed. just differently. not tangibly every day. i can feel my mummyness evolving into something else.
hard to describe, i am feeling less intense about danny moving away cos there is this wonderful relaxed understanding vibe enveloping the previous grief.
    much love X
